Cake:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting:
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease 13×18 pan.
In saucepan over medium heat, bring to a boil water, butter, and cocoa powder.
In separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, mix sour cream, eggs, and vanilla. Add to dry mixture and mix until combined.
Remove cocoa mixture from heat once it boils. Add to mixture. Mix until combined with no lumps. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
While cake is baking, prepare frosting.
In saucepan, bring to a boil milk, cocoa powder, and butter. Remove from heat, and add powdered sugar. Mix thoroughly.
Pour hot frosting over hot cake.
