Aunt Florence’s Biscuits

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup milk

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add butter, mixing thoroughly with a fork. Add milk slowly to make a soft dough. Roll into a square of dough on a floured board to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into 16 squares. Flute the top using a sharp knife, cutting about halfway through. This makes a lot of crusty top. Lightly grease a pan, and bake at 475 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
