There are lots of variations based on tastes and time availability.
- 1 whole raw chicken or chicken pieces (like thighs) or 1 rotisserie chicken
- 4 16-ounce bags of Grandma’s frozen egg noodles or homemade Egg Noodles
- 1 stick of butter
- Salt, pepper, garlic salt, chicken bouillon
- Chicken broth (optional)*
Boil chicken in water until fully cooked. Keep water for broth and/or add chicken broth. Let chicken cool. Debone chicken, and cut into small chunks. If using a rotisserie chicken, use chicken broth.
Add butter to water or broth. If not using chicken broth, add bouillon to water. Add noodles, taking care to separate clumps of noodles. Simmer until fully cooked. Add in chunks of chicken and seasonings to taste. Let simmer to allow flavors to incorporate.
